This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of intricate tax laws, regulations, rulings, and guidance.
• Draft technical memoranda and convey findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Offer proactive tax planning and advisory services.
• Assist clients in managing their tax responsibilities, uncovering opportunities, and reducing risk.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
• Cultivate strong client relationships and provide responsive, high-quality service.
• Oversee engagement budgets, timelines, staffing, billing, realization, and overall profitability.
• Mentor, supervise, and review the work of tax associates, seniors, and managers.
• Deliver timely coaching and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with partners and leadership on client strategies, technical issues, service opportunities, and practice growth initiatives.
• Assist in responding to tax notices, examinations, and controversy matters, including liaising with taxing authorities.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and industry trends, and share relevant impacts with clients and team members.
• Prepare and review transfer pricing benchmark deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• A CPA license is mandatory; a JD, LLM in Taxation, or Enrolled Agent credential may be considered based on the role's scope.
• Generally, 7+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally within a public accounting or professional services setting.
• Proven experience in reviewing complex tax returns and managing multiple client engagements.
• Strong technical expertise in federal and state tax compliance, tax planning, and relevant tax regulations.
• Experience in supervising, coaching, and developing tax professionals.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to clarify complex tax concepts to clients and team members.
• Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to handle competing deadlines while ensuring attention to detail and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Proficiency in transfer pricing transactions and the preparation and review of all associated benchmark deliverables.
