This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in defining short, medium, and long-term gameplay loops, reward structures, and fundamental game systems.
• Design, prototype, and implement a diverse array of game systems, including creative tools, progression systems, social play, crafting, and economy loops.
• Convert goals into specifications, wireframes, user experience flows, and playable concepts.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Managers and engage cross-functionally to deliver elegant, expressive features that enhance our distinctive game model.
• Integrate personality and narrative elements into systems to facilitate emergent storytelling.
• Design with player motivation and autonomy in mind, employing research frameworks such as PENS/SDT.
• Over 5 years of experience in designing features and systems for leading mobile free-to-play games.
• Strong expertise in strategy, life simulation, sandbox, or creativity-oriented games.
• AI-curious or AI-fluent: eager to investigate generative tools and their impact on player empowerment.
• Proficient in at least one of the following areas: feature design, progression, economy, crafting, or user-generated content systems.
• Ability to visualize concepts—proficient in wireframing, prototyping, and communicating through flows and mockups.
• Proven history of transforming high-level ideas into features that are launched, perform well, and evolve over time.
• Creative sensibility: able to think in terms of tone, story, mood, and expression, beyond mere mechanics.
• Experience working alongside engineers and product managers to refine, test, and deliver results.
• Startup-ready: adaptable, quick, highly collaborative, and focused on outcomes.
