Senior Systems Engineer – HPE Campus and Branch

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as an HPE Mist specialist collaborating with the AI for Networking Seller

• Assist HPE Territory Managers and Systems Engineers throughout the entire customer lifecycle

• Formulate technical account strategies aimed at acquiring new logos, displacing competitors, and expanding customer relationships

• Participate in discovery, requirements gathering, architecture formulation, design, validation, closing, deployment, and customer adoption

• Facilitate customer discovery sessions, architecture workshops, technical presentations, demonstrations, and executive briefings

• Convert customer requirements into HPE Mist architectures and solution proposals

• Develop competitive technical strategies and position HPE Mist against other solutions

• Oversee demonstrations and proof-of-concept initiatives, including setting objectives, defining success criteria, creating test plans, managing configurations, deployments, validations, and troubleshooting

• Provide guidance on architecture, migration planning, deployment best practices, operational advice, and support for adoption

• Identify technical risks and barriers to adoption while coordinating HPE resources for resolution

• Collaborate with Customer Success, Support, Product Management, and Engineering to address customer needs and escalations

• Maintain expertise in HPE Mist wireless, wired, WAN, access assurance, location services, cloud operations, automation, and AI-driven capabilities

• Produce technical content, design guidelines, demonstrations, best practices, and enablement materials

• Mentor and empower HPE teams, partners, and distributors through training, workshops, and opportunity support

• Assist in customer events, webinars, seminars, executive briefings, partner sessions, and field enablement programs

• Travel approximately 50% in a customer-facing sales capacity

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be located in ME, NH, MA, RI, CT, DE, NJ, DC, VA, WV, PA, MD, NY, or VT

• Over 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, technical consulting, or related fields in enterprise networking

• Demonstrated success in supporting complex technical sales cycles, conducting customer demonstrations, leading architecture workshops, and managing proof-of-concept engagements

• Extensive knowledge of enterprise wireless networking, including RF principles, industry standards, site surveys, high-density designs, roaming, security, and troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of campus and branch networking, including Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 design, routing, switching, multicast, QoS, ACLs, firewalls, segmentation, and resiliency

• Familiarity with identity and access technologies such as 802.1X, AAA, RADIUS, EAP methods, certificates, SAML, and various client operating systems

• Experience in designing and supporting large-scale campus, distributed enterprise, and branch networking setups

• Practical experience with wireless design and validation tools like Ekahau, Hamina, NetAlly, or iBwave

• Knowledge of REST APIs, Python, scripting, automation, cloud integrations, or Infrastructure as Code is highly desirable

• Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

• Executive presence with the ability to establish credibility with technical practitioners, business leaders, and executive stakeholders

• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities

• Willingness to travel up to 50%

• Previous experience with HPE Mist, Aruba, or other leading enterprise networking platforms is preferred

• Relevant industry certifications such as CWNP/CWNE, JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent are preferred
