Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Become a part of the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program.

• Maintain and improve the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System.

• Execute command, control, communications, and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions.

• Gather and disseminate global environmental data from various polar-orbiting satellites.

• Work collaboratively with Stakeholders/Product Managers to determine minimum viable product requirements.

• Lead testing initiatives and tailor Algorithm-driven solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-15+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and management of enterprise information systems.

• Engineering experience with large, complex systems (e.g., redundancy, scalability, portability, Agile methodologies).

• Practical experience or direct leadership of Software teams developing in Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and NoSQL.

• Developed innovative microservices and Web Services (including SOA/SOAP/REST/XML) or supported the testing of such systems.

• Utilized Cloud Foundry for efficient development on top of Kubernetes.

• Conducted or led verification testing of integrated software/hardware systems with a team or led a team in conducting such testing.

• Experience in executing large-scale test events using traditional Integration and Test (I&T) approaches (e.g., RVTM, Meaningful Test Metrics, Test Reporting).

• Familiarity with NASA/NOAA Systems Engineering processes (ideal but not mandatory).

• Background in cross-functional disciplines including (RMA, SMA, Systems Security, Metrics, Trade Analysis, Mission Systems, Integrated Logistics).

• Experience in developing NOAA/NASA Systems Engineering documentation (e.g., SEMP, Test Plans, Test Procedures, SSPs, milestone event planning).
