Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer business drivers and their decision-making motivations.

• Link technology solutions to quantifiable customer business results.

• Collaborate with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to formulate customer strategies that enhance revenue growth and generate new business.

• Showcase the benefits of Everpure solutions.

• Enhance sales strategies and tactics while assuming technical responsibilities.

• Offer technical leadership and domain expertise across storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, as well as DAS, NAS, and SAN solutions.

• Oversee evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.

• Construct and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers and potential accounts.

• Gather requirements and convert customer business needs into viable solutions.

• Write RFI and RFP responses.

• Seek opportunities for interoperability, functionality, and performance testing and validation.

• Advocate for roadmap and planning discussions.

• Work closely with product and technical marketing to create whitepapers and web presentations.

• Keep track of competitors and maintain precise solution-positioning materials.

• Monitor market trends and competitive developments to foster thought leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior pre-sales experience is a must.

• At least 5 years of pertinent experience in technology, design, and communications.

• Experience in supporting sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts is preferred.

• Profound understanding of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.

• Proven experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.

• Experience in contributing to or leading RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses.

• Extensive knowledge of storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.

• Familiarity with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.

• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus.

• Experience with distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory, storage subsystems, shared memory, cache architectures, and windowing systems.

• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.

• Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.

• Fluency in both German and English is required.

• A BS in CS, EE, or another technical degree, or equivalent experience.

• Familiarity with modern web architecture, including LAMP stack, scale-out vs. scale-up architectures, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and microservices architecture, is desirable.

• Familiarity with storage-intensive applications, including SQL and Oracle structured databases, is highly sought after.
