Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and oversee highly available AWS and Azure infrastructures utilizing Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and CDK.

• Direct production Kubernetes workloads in EKS/AKS, encompassing upgrades, networking, and autoscaling.

• Manage Linux system builds and resolve issues with NGINX, MariaDB, and Redis.

• Operate and scale MariaDB/Galera clusters, Redis, Memcached, and Elasticsearch.

• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps.

• Automate operational tasks through Python and Bash scripting.

• Enhance monitoring across metrics, logs, and traces.

• Strengthen infrastructure security, engage in incident response, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

• Spearhead load-testing initiatives and enhance platform performance.

• Review and audit AWS/Azure architectures and CI/CD pipelines.

• Standardize infrastructure-as-code methodologies and refine Kubernetes clusters and Linux systems.

• Create highly available data tiers and establish platform engineering standards for complex client workloads.

• Shape multi-cloud strategies and impact infrastructure design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience at a senior level in platform engineering or DevOps within large-scale or multi-tenant environments.

• Proficient hands-on experience with AWS and Azure; multi-cloud experience is preferred, with GCP and Oracle Cloud being a bonus.

• Extensive experience in Linux systems setup, optimization, troubleshooting, and hardening.

• Proven track record of managing Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or CDK projects from inception to long-term maintenance.

• Experience operating production EKS/AKS environments, including upgrades, networking, troubleshooting, and Kubernetes PodWeaver.

• Proficient in managing production-grade NGINX, MariaDB/Galera, Redis/Memcached, and Elasticsearch.

• Advanced skills in Python and/or Bash scripting.

• Experience in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of modern observability tools and security best practices.

• Exceptional documentation abilities and clear communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with clients and bridge systems and application teams effectively.

• Availability for participation in a 24/7 support rotation.
