This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Oversee and sustain our hybrid (on-premise and cloud) system infrastructure, prioritizing resilience, stability, and sustainability in your methodologies.
• Recognize and execute enhancements to current infrastructure, tools, and operational procedures.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of BMAT’s infrastructure landscape and serve as a reliable technical team member.
• Create flexible, reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or configuration management system modules for the team to utilize, expediting their tasks.
• Proactively identify reliability, performance, or security vulnerabilities before they affect production systems.
• Assist engineering teams in troubleshooting their challenges.
• Maintain technical quality standards and adhere to established practices.
• Contribute to operational excellence by engaging in incident response, maintenance, and support tasks alongside the IT team.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration.
• Significant experience with CLI-based installation and upkeep of the Linux operating system in on-premise or cloud settings.
• Experience in managing SaaS solutions, including public and private cloud resources, through web console and/or API.
• Proficient understanding of TCP/IP network protocols and administration, along with related protocols and systems (e.g., DNS, HTTP).
• Proficiency in Python 3 and/or BASH scripting/programming.
• Extensive experience with configuration management tools like Puppet and Ansible, and/or IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with the usage and/or management of VPN systems such as OpenVPN and/or IPsec.
• Knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric key cryptography systems and their applications (SSH, SSL).
• Experience in SQL database utilization; DBA experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external parties.
• Strong time-management and self-organization skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks among competing demands.
• Proactive approach with a willingness to learn, take initiative, and welcome feedback from supervisors.
• Team-oriented collaborator who positively contributes to team dynamics to cultivate a supportive work atmosphere.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information discreetly.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish and Catalan is highly valued but not essential.
