Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a knowledgeable individual contributor responsible for the operation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of the cloud infrastructure supporting a major federal enterprise cloud platform.

• Ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and delivery objectives while maintaining the platform's security, stability, and performance around the clock.

• Manage, sustain, and strengthen cloud infrastructure (AWS) and associated systems across various environments.

• Conduct patching, upgrades, configuration management, and standardized baseline maintenance.

• Provide support for Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) infrastructure and essential platform services.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate infrastructure, networking, and performance challenges.

• Automate infrastructure operations and configurations utilizing infrastructure as code (Terraform).

• Contribute to platform security and compliance efforts, including ATO sustainment and audit readiness.

• Independently design cloud infrastructure while balancing cost, reliability, and efficiency considerations.

• Develop reusable modules and provide mentorship to engineers.

• Engage in technical depth interviews with prospective candidates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience; applicable experience may replace formal education.

• Expert proficiency in operating and maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).

• Advanced knowledge of at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (Terraform preferred).

• Profound understanding of systems administration, networking, containerization, and fundamental DevOps principles.

• Must possess the capability to obtain and uphold a U.S. Public Trust / suitability determination.
