This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, train, implement, and provide support for Epic applications.

• Enhance clinical and operational workflows for improved efficiency.

• Collaborate with operational leaders and end users to convert business requirements into Epic configurations, integrations, and reporting.

• Assist in ensuring safe patient care, revenue cycle operations, regulatory compliance, and adherence to application service-level agreements.

• Uphold the application's vision and protect its integrity and security.

• Spearhead process improvement initiatives for application management and Epic-related training.

• Collect and refine stakeholder requirements, map workflows, and design Epic builds.

• Keep specifications, decision logs, and design documents updated.

• Perform gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory modifications, and new initiatives.

• Oversee smaller system implementations and upgrade projects.

• Lead project teams utilizing waterfall or agile methodologies.

• Create and sustain system configuration and process documentation.

• Mentor junior analysts in their development.

• Configure Epic records, master files, tools, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows.

• Develop and execute unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing plans; address defects and document findings.

• Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, and downstream workflows.

• Coordinate release management, environment transitions, and downtime protocols.

• Provide go-live and post-live hypercare, including rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and at-the-elbow support.

• Manage service requests and incidents through triage and root-cause analysis, ensuring compliance with SLAs.

• Offer advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and additional applications.

• Collaborate with IT, clinical, interface, analytics, and operational teams.

• Work with HL7, FHIR, PDFs, CCD/CCDA, Clarity/Caboodle extracts, registries, and operational reporting.

• Ensure data integrity and consistent definition of metrics.

• Support regulatory preparedness, audits, privacy/security controls, and ITIL-aligned processes.

• Design and implement tailored training programs.

• Govern and maintain the CareConnect curriculum and training environments.

• Communicate updates regarding system releases and upgrades.

• Manage end-user training requests and incidents; document solutions and enhance support processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.

• 5-7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare setting.

• Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment if no degree is held.

• Familiarity with Epic applications and healthcare workflows (clinical, revenue cycle, or IT experience).

• Strong skills in requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing.

• Knowledge of ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile project methodologies.

• Ability to effectively communicate with clinical and operational stakeholders and managed service providers, producing clear documentation.

• Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.

• For Application Training position: Epic Training Environment Build certified with 3+ years of relevant experience.

• For Application Training position: Hold 2 Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications.

• Preferred for Application Build role: Current Epic Certification or proficiency in one or more relevant modules.

• Preferred for Application Build role: 3+ years of experience in Epic build and configuration.

• Preferred: Previous leadership or supervisory experience.

• Preferred: Experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing.

• Preferred: Familiarity with SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, or reporting tools.

• Preferred: Background in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations.

• ITIL Foundation certification is desirable, but not mandatory.

• Certifications in one or more Epic applications are required.

• Experience in a large healthcare system or hospital environment is necessary.

• Familiarity with other healthcare applications and systems is beneficial.

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards is essential.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.

• Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools is advantageous.

• An advanced degree in a related field is a plus.

• Candidate must be eligible to work in Ohio.
