This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborates with other senior-level Contractor technical personnel, such as Systems Engineers and Technical Analysts, to ensure that the system designed and implemented aligns with the overall objectives.
• Accountable for the operation and maintenance of IT systems and facilities established by the Government to deliver automated litigation support IT resources for specific cases.
• May take on responsibilities for the establishment of systems and facilities.
• For existing systems and facilities, ensures continuous operation; monitors, analyzes, and optimizes system performance while providing recommendations for enhancements; conducts scheduled system backups; assigns user IDs and passwords; manages disk space allocation and tracking; offers consulting support and guidance to IT users responsible for specific applications/databases on the servers; identifies and orders necessary supplies, hardware, software, and accessories; and executes hardware and software upgrades.
• Implements and upholds system, facility, and data security protocols, including resources and procedures for disaster recovery.
• Manages not only hardware and operating system software but also database and other application software.
• Coordinates with the COR and DOJ technical teams on all related matters, collaborating with the DOJ office automation network administration staff on issues pertaining to the network itself.
• Supervises and oversees subordinate staff.
• Reports on progress regularly.
• Develops tools for system-wide application development; prepares system documentation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance before starting (candidates are not required to have clearance at the time of application).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote setting.
• A minimum of five years of hands-on, relevant experience in implementing the types of systems being established—e.g., UNIX, Windows, Network Storage Solutions, etc.
• Should have practical experience in designing, procuring equipment and software, installing, integrating, and testing within the required environment.
• Must possess experience with large systems that incorporate a complex array of operating systems and functions.
• Should have a solid understanding of specific applications and application software, such as Oracle, Relativity, or other web hosting platforms.
• CNE certification is highly desirable.
• At least one year of experience in setting up large-scale database management applications using the relevant database management software.
• Experience in storage technology planning, performance capacity planning and modeling, applications planning, human factors issues, distributed processing, and business process analysis is required.
• In-depth knowledge of the Government's IT environments, including office automation networks and PC and server-based databases and applications, is necessary.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Government's security requirements is essential.
