Senior System Administrator, Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of system administration for IDEAS as Key Personnel, overseeing System Administrator support and liaising with the Database Administrator and ISSO.

• Manage RHEL, Apache HTTP, Oracle Java, and Oracle WebLogic across Performance, Staging, and Development environments.

• Conduct system builds and decommissions, and handle user account management, security groups, and file permissions.

• Administer application-layer components such as Appian, Oracle applications, and WebLogic in both Staging and Production environments.

• Submit Enterprise Change Requests to the Change Advisory Board and the DISA OS, database, and web administration teams.

• Test and document security patches in lower environments using automated scripts and schedule deployments to production.

• Act as a named alternate to the ISSO for STIG checklist reviews, ACAS and HBSS findings, IAVA remediation, and POA&M inputs.

• Oversee the DoD PKI certificate lifecycle, which includes CSRs, installation, expiration tracking, CRL updates, and certificate removal.

• Streamline log inspection through shell scripting and Splunk, and generate ranked risk and trend reports.

• Ensure server application components remain within two releases of the vendor baseline.

• Create and maintain system administration documentation, SOPs, SSP inputs, system diagrams, administration and troubleshooting guides, and critical-service lists.

• Support the achievement and maintenance of Authority to Operate.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold an active Secret Clearance.

• Possess over 10 years of IT experience, including more than 5 years administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a production setting.

• Have at least 5 years of experience administering Oracle WebLogic Server.

• Demonstrate experience in patching, tuning, and securing Apache HTTP and Java applications.

• Have hands-on experience with DISA STIG implementation, ACAS remediation, and IAVA compliance within a DoD Risk Management Framework environment.

• Proficient in managing DoD PKI and SSL/TLS certificates.

• Skilled in Bash scripting for automation and using Splunk or a similar log analysis tool.

• Familiar with formal change control processes in a government-hosted environment.

• Have experience on at least two projects in a large organization focused on administering, operating, maintaining, and securing large-scale applications.
