Senior Sysadmin – Remote Latam

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage both Windows and Linux server environments.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure and assist with modernization efforts.

• Direct system upgrades, apply patches, perform maintenance, and manage lifecycle activities.

• Design and execute improvements in infrastructure to enhance reliability and performance.

• Oversee identity management, access, and security protocols across enterprise systems.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate issues related to infrastructure, networking, and applications.

• Create and sustain automation scripts and operational tools.

• Assist with backup processes, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.

• Monitor system performance and proactively mitigate risks and concerns.

• Generate and update technical documentation and operational guidelines.

• Collaborate with Security, Development, DevOps, and IT teams on infrastructure projects.

• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level administrators, offering technical support.

• Engage in incident response and participate in on-call support rotations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Administrator, or in a comparable role.

• Extensive experience managing both Windows Server and Linux environments.

• In-depth understanding of networking principles, such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, and Firewalls.

• Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments.

• Strong expertise in Active Directory, identity management, and access control.

• Practical experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Familiarity with managing virtualized environments like VMware and Hyper-V.

• Experience with the implementation and upkeep of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in creating automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Strong communication skills in English.
