Senior Synon, Cobol400 Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, modify, and enhance applications utilizing SYNON/COOL 2E, COBOL400, CL/400, CLLE, and DB2/400.

• Develop and provide support for RxCLAIM/pharmacy claims adjudication functionality and associated business processes.

• Analyze and improve complex claim processing logic, business rules, and system workflows.

• Develop and maintain integrations with downstream healthcare and PBM systems.

• Execute major enhancements and modifications to existing healthcare applications.

• Maintain, modernize, and enhance existing AS/400 applications while creating new solutions.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and application issues.

• Investigate system defects, identify root causes, and implement technical solutions.

• Translate business requirements into technical designs and application modifications.

• Document system flows, application functionalities, interfaces, and business logic.

• Conduct impact analysis for application changes to ensure no negative effects on downstream processes.

• Perform unit and integration testing and support system/user acceptance testing as needed.

• Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, QA teams, and healthcare/PBM stakeholders.

• Deliver reliable code with minimal supervision.

• Take ownership of assigned development activities and meet project milestones and deadlines.

• Provide technical guidance and assume leadership responsibilities as necessary.

• Participate in internal and external video meetings as required.

• Work onsite at corporate or client offices as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with SYNON / COOL 2E, COBOL400, CL/400, CLLE, and DB2/400.

• Significant hands-on experience with RxCLAIM.

• Ability and willingness to assume technical leadership responsibilities when necessary.

• Experience working with pharmacy claims adjudication and claims processing systems.

• Strong knowledge of Healthcare / Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) processes and applications.

• Experience in analyzing and modifying complex claims processing logic and business rules.

• Experience supporting integrations between RxCLAIM/AS400 applications and downstream healthcare systems.

• Strong production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.

• Ability to comprehend complex legacy applications and implement enhancements with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

• Desired: Experience supporting large-scale healthcare or PBM platforms.

• Desired: Experience performing significant enhancements to existing AS/400 healthcare applications.

• Desired: Strong understanding of legacy application architecture and modernization considerations.

• Desired: Experience documenting complex system flows and business logic.

• Desired: Experience working in Agile or structured environments.

• Participation in internal and external meetings via video calls, as necessary.

• Ability to work onsite at corporate or client offices as necessary.
