
Senior Symfony Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Lead backend development utilizing Symfony 7.4, API Platform, and MongoDB (Doctrine ODM)
• Design and create API resources, custom operations, filters, and security protocols
• Enhance high-traffic endpoints and manage high-volume traffic/consumption processing
• Advance asynchronous processing using Symfony Messenger and RabbitMQ (including workers, retries, and routing)
• Oversee subscription lifecycle management (including workflows, entitlements, plan modifications, and top-ups)
• Integrate and support payment providers (such as Paddle and cryptocurrency gateways)
• Develop and oversee data pipelines linking MongoDB and ClickHouse for analytics purposes
• Fortify API security measures (JWT, OAuth, authorization, rate limiting)
• Enhance CI/CD processes and developer experience utilizing Docker and GitHub Actions
• Leverage AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Codex, or similar) to expedite delivery while maintaining code quality and reviewability
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to fellow team members
• Proficiency in Symfony: Over 5 years of professional experience with Symfony, encompassing Security, Serializer, Validator, Messenger, and Workflow
• API development expertise: Strong background in API Platform (or similar REST API frameworks) — including custom operations, DTOs, filters, and extensions
• Experience with document databases: Practical knowledge of MongoDB + Doctrine ODM, covering schema design, indexing, and query optimization for large datasets
• Familiarity with message queues: Production-level experience with RabbitMQ or comparable brokers for asynchronous workloads
• Performance optimization skills: Capability to enhance PHP applications for throughput, memory usage, and latency
• Security understanding: Strong knowledge of web security, JWT authentication, and secure payment/callback management
• Quality assurance: Comfortable with automated testing (PHPUnit), static analysis, and adherence to code review standards
• AI-assisted development experience: Hands-on experience with AI tools like Cursor, Claude, or Cortex — crafting effective prompts, critically reviewing AI-generated code, and incorporating these tools into a productive engineering workflow
