Senior Structural Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Create design drawings to ensure efficient and cost-effective construction of structural systems

• Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and designers throughout the design phase

• Inspect structural drawings for inaccuracies and omissions

• Analyze project contract documents to guarantee quality and precision

• Participate in weekly project meetings to assess design and project advancement

• Lead and assist in 3D structural design initiatives using Advance Steel and/or Revit

• Establish models, generate drawings, coordinate with various disciplines, and create consistent standards for industrial structural outputs

• Review, revise, and assist in enforcing CAD, Advance Steel, and Revit standards

• Mentor junior designers and provide primary oversight of structural outputs

• Direct project teams through industrial modeling, drawing generation, verification, and coordination processes

• Occasionally travel to active industrial client locations for field verification and related project assistance

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of structural design experience in heavy industrial or process-industrial facilities

• Strong understanding of structural steel, reinforced concrete, equipment supports, pipe supports, platforms, access steel, foundations, and retrofitting in existing facilities

• Proven experience in designing and drafting structural systems in heavy industrial settings, including chemical, petrochemical, metals, manufacturing, power, midstream, mining, or similar facilities

• Familiarity with industry standards

• Proficient in Advance Steel and Revit

• Advanced expertise in Advance Steel and/or Revit, encompassing model setup, production of structural deliverables, troubleshooting, interdisciplinary coordination, and mentoring other designers

• Strong teamwork abilities

• Self-driven with keen attention to detail

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Capability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screening, including marijuana, and submit to random testing as a condition of ongoing employment

• Experience with Navisworks is advantageous

• Experience in steel detailing is a plus

• An associate degree in design and drafting is a plus
