This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Establish and drive the strategy for post-purchase operations, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to provide scalable, high-quality experiences for Whatnot’s users in Japan.
• Convert insights derived from operational data and user interactions into priorities, roadmaps, and initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, speed, and scalability.
• Collaborate with the Global Commerce team to implement enhancements that elevate the overall user experience, taking ownership of the execution from start to finish.
• Lead intricate, cross-functional projects from problem definition to execution, ensuring alignment, accountability, and measurable results.
• Design and implement scalable processes, systems, and operating models that cater to Whatnot’s growth and the evolving needs of its users.
• Act as a strategic thought partner and representative for Japan to senior leaders, offering data-driven recommendations and trade-offs to guide decision-making.
• Regularly evaluate operational performance, pinpointing opportunities to enhance efficiency, resilience, and user experience.
• 7 - 10 years of experience in roles related to strategy and operations (e.g., consulting, finance, General Management, Operations).
• Proven track record in developing and executing strategies that facilitate scalable, high-quality operations in dynamic and ambiguous environments.
• Strong analytical judgment, capable of synthesizing both quantitative and qualitative insights into clear recommendations and decisions.
• Demonstrated success in leading large, cross-functional initiatives from conceptualization to execution.
• Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and create scalable processes, systems, and operating models that support long-term growth.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the capability to influence across Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools; experience with SQL and analytics platforms (e.g., Looker, Sigma, Hex) is advantageous.
• A solid understanding of the nuances of the Japanese market.
