This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of individual workstreams within the AI Strategy Program and various cross-functional initiatives — organize the work, guide decision-making, and ensure timely delivery of outputs.
• Develop and sustain the operational framework for intricate projects: project trackers, decision logs, risk registers, governance structures, and meeting schedules.
• Manage incoming requests and competing priorities across the team's portfolio; ensure the team's focus remains on the most impactful tasks.
• Create financial models, business cases, and ROI frameworks to facilitate strategic decisions — ensuring they are clear, precise, and practical for use rather than just archiving.
• Perform competitive analysis and market research; condense findings into executive-level summaries and recommendations.
• Assist in tracking initiatives and developing KPI dashboards that link strategic priorities to measurable results.
• Prepare materials for board meetings, executive presentations, and governance committee deliverables; maintain ownership of the quality of both the narrative and the data.
• Act as a representative of the Strategic Initiatives team in cross-functional meetings; ensure stakeholders stay aligned and accountable without direct authority.
• Distill complex and ambiguous situations into clear problem statements and structured options for senior decision-makers.
• Aid in the implementation of Focus’s enterprise AI strategy, which includes vendor assessments, use case intake processes, governance committee operations, and pilot program management.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the AI program’s knowledge base, intake forms, risk frameworks, and operational rhythms.
• Function as a credible, hands-on user of AI tools; bring practical experience into discussions about how AI can add value at Focus.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is required; an MBA or CFA in progress or completed is preferred.
• Over 3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate strategy at a financial services firm.
• Proven ability to create and manage structured work products — models, memos, slide presentations — independently and under tight deadlines.
• Experience in fast-paced environments juggling multiple priorities and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Outstanding financial modeling and Excel proficiency — capable of building from the ground up, not reliant on templates.
• Excellent structured communication skills: capable of drafting a one-pager, creating a five-slide deck, or leading a working session with equal effectiveness.
• Inquisitive and comfortable navigating ambiguity; takes initiative rather than waiting for direction.
• Strong personal accountability — takes responsibility for their output, corrects mistakes, and ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
• Collaborative by nature but also adept at working independently; can function with minimal supervision on defined workstreams.
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools (Claude, Notion AI, Copilot, etc.) and a willingness to adopt new technologies early. Experience with AI development is an advantage but not mandatory.
