
Senior Strategic Account Manager – Strategic, Emerging Accounts A&D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary contact for all Strategic/Emerging Account capture initiatives.
• Build and nurture strategic relationships with key programs across various business units.
• Actively collaborate with program managers, engineers, and technical personnel to grasp mission requirements, technology roadmaps, and emerging capability gaps 18-48 months ahead of formal solicitations.
• Create a robust pipeline of Strategic/Emerging Account opportunities that are in alignment with sector strategy, documenting all prospects in CRM with comprehensive insights on stakeholders, requirements, competition, and winning strategies.
• Oversee all critical opportunities throughout the complete capture lifecycle: qualification → shaping → capture → proposal → award, focusing on early engagement and influencing requirements.
• Direct capture initiatives for Strategic/Emerging Account opportunities, devising and implementing successful strategies that leverage content across various systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Pricing Teams to design solutions that meet or exceed customer specifications while providing a competitive edge in price/performance to guarantee successful capture and execution of opportunities.
• Represent the voice of the customer for all assigned Strategic/Emerging Accounts internally, converting mission needs and priorities into actionable business strategies and investment decisions.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with customer program management and engineering teams to pinpoint opportunities for collaboration on new technologies or programs, ensuring early engagement, effective positioning for success, and maximum value realization.
• Proactively engage assigned Strategic/Emerging customers to shape requirements prior to RFP release; influence specifications to align with company capabilities through white papers, technical discussions, and participation in industry days.
• Utilize structured capture methodologies (Phase Gate) to ensure disciplined pursuit decisions and optimal resource allocation.
• Work closely with the Director – Strategic Accounts – A&D and the Business Development Team to ensure a shared understanding of key Strategic/Emerging Account activities, competitive landscape, and pricing strategies.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, with a preference for business development experience; experience in the A&D industry is required.
