Senior Storage Consultant – Commvault Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Manage and support enterprise storage environments.

• Conduct proactive monitoring and health assessments to guarantee platform availability and performance.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate storage infrastructure issues.

• Perform root cause analyses and engage in problem management.

• Oversee capacity management and suggest storage optimization strategies.

• Carry out firmware upgrades, patch management, and operational maintenance tasks.

• Assist with storage-related change requests.

• Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.

• Engage in on-call support and resolve major incidents.

• Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational standards, and governance requirements.

• Administer, monitor, and support Commvault backup and recovery systems.

• Manage backup, restore, replication, retention, upgrades, patches, and platform maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot backup challenges and execute enterprise recovery operations.

• Conduct and document recovery testing and disaster recovery drills.

• Support hybrid and cloud-based backup solutions.

• Maintain backup policies, retention schedules, and compliance mandates.

• Provide operational support for cyber recovery and ransomware defense solutions.

• Oversee immutable backup and cyber recovery environments.

• Assist in business continuity and recovery procedure testing.

• Contribute to audits, remediation efforts, and best practices in data protection.

• Identify operational risks and recommend improvement initiatives.

• Act as a senior technical escalation point for storage and backup incidents.

• Deliver expert support to both customers and internal teams.

• Participate in service reviews and operational governance meetings.

• Develop and maintain procedures, runbooks, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with service managers, architects, and infrastructure teams.

• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.

• Contribute to the service transition and operational readiness of new solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

• At least 5 years of practical experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, and recovery technologies.

• Extensive operational knowledge of Commvault Complete Data Protection.

• Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) is required.

• Commvault Certified Engineer (CCEng) is preferred.

• Commvault Certified Expert (CCE) is preferred.

• Experience with Dell EMC, NetApp, or HPE Alletra/Nimble is essential.

• Familiarity with VMware vSphere, KVM, or Nutanix.

• Understanding of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating environments.

• Proficient in monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance management.

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash is considered advantageous.

• Experience in ITIL-based support environments is desirable.

• Knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management processes.

• Capability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic operational setting.

• Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within support teams.

• Proficiency in English is required.
