Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, ML Understanding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop a cohesive user understanding framework and a long-term technical vision.

• Spearhead sophisticated user models and extensive representation learning across Feeds, Notifications, Search, and Ads.

• Utilize LLMs and GenAI for creating dynamic user profiles, inferring intent, and enhancing semantic reasoning.

• Architect storage, retrieval, feature pipelines, APIs, and components for large-scale learning and serving.

• Guarantee low-latency serving, high availability, and seamless MLOps integration.

• Propel experimentation and adoption in Feeds, Notifications, Search, Ads, product development, infrastructure, and downstream ML teams.

• Guide senior and staff engineers, lead design reviews, and implement engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in building and scaling production-grade ML systems, especially in user modeling, large-scale representation learning, or recommender systems.

• Proven ability to drive unclear, high-impact projects from initial concept to full production.

• Strong foundational knowledge in representation learning, behavioral modeling, and user clustering.

• Experience or a strong intuition in applying LLMs or foundational models.

• Systems thinking approach encompassing data, training, evaluation, serving, and adoption.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with product, infrastructure, and ML teams.

• Experience in mentoring senior engineers, leading design reviews, and establishing best practices.

• Ability to navigate trade-offs related to quality, latency, cost, and safety.
