Senior Staff IAM Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.

📋 Description

• Engage in all technical aspects of team deliverables, focusing on quality, performance, maintainability, and scalability.

• Spearhead the development of end-to-end CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab, GitLab Runners, Jenkins, and Nexus.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management through Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.

• Manage integrations across Identity Platforms and ServiceNow, encompassing APIs, connectors, provisioning workflows, and lifecycle automation.

• Contribute to full-stack development across backend services and user-facing IAM workflows.

• Provide technical insights on UI design and implementation.

• Utilize data analytics for identity governance, including RBAC role mining, access pattern analysis, entitlement optimization, and AI-assisted access request recommendations.

• Participate in design and code reviews.

• Mentor and guide 4–5 junior to mid-level engineers.

• Collaborate with security, compliance, and platform teams to create secure, scalable, and audit-ready solutions.

• Advocate for practices that enhance resilience, developer velocity, and operational maturity.

• Partner with principal-level staff on projects and organizational standards.

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable software components.

• Work alongside product managers and engineering teams to define frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents with a green card will be considered.

• Extensive technical hands-on experience in building production enterprise-level platforms.

• Strong expertise in the IAM domain, including Identity Lifecycle, RBAC/ABAC, Access Certifications, and Privileged Access Management.

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience.

• At least 3 years in a senior staff role, or equivalent experience and education.

• Strong backend proficiency in Java or Python.

• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Working knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJS, REST APIs, and HTML/CSS.

• Systems engineering experience in designing and operating complex, distributed enterprise platforms.

• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows using GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, JFrog, or similar tools.

• Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, and/or Puppet.

• Ability in identity data analytics, including designing queries, building pipelines, and generating actionable insights.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, software quality, reliability, and observability.

• Proven capability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.

• Experience in integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.

• A growth mindset and a passion for new technologies and industry trends.

• Preferred: strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization.

• Preferred: 10+ years with Java, C#, or another high-level compiled language.

• Preferred: 5+ years with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, Playwright, or TestNG.

• Familiarity with SailPoint, Veza, or ServiceNow platform integrations.

• Strong understanding of SAML, OAuth2, OIDC, and SCIM.

• Experience with Neo4j or ML-assisted role mining and access recommendation systems.

• Exposure to FedRAMP, GCC, or equivalent regulated environments.

• Experience with Cursor, Windsurf, or similar AI productivity and coding tools.

• Comfortable with IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, and Unix-based systems.
