Senior Staff IAM Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Engage in all technical facets of team deliverables, focusing on quality, performance, maintainability, and scalability.

• Lead the development of end-to-end CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab, GitLab Runners, Jenkins, and Nexus.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.

• Oversee integrations for Identity Platform and ServiceNow systems, including APIs, connectors, provisioning workflows, and lifecycle automation.

• Contribute to full-stack development across backend services and user-facing IAM workflows.

• Provide technical insights on UI design and its implementation.

• Leverage data analytics for identity governance, encompassing RBAC role mining, access pattern analysis, entitlement optimization, and AI-driven access request recommendations.

• Take part in design and code reviews.

• Mentor and support 4–5 junior to mid-level engineers.

• Collaborate with security, compliance, and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, and audit-ready solutions.

• Promote patterns that enhance system resilience, developer velocity, and operational maturity.

• Work alongside principal-level staff to drive initiatives and uphold organizational standards.

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable software components with a focus on performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to establish frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents with a green card will be considered.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building production enterprise-level platforms.

• Strong expertise in the IAM domain, including Identity Lifecycle, RBAC/ABAC, Access Certifications, and Privileged Access Management.

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience.

• At least 3 years as a senior staff engineer, or equivalent experience and education.

• Proficient in backend development with Java or Python and MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Working knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJS, REST APIs, and HTML/CSS.

• Systems engineering experience in designing and operating complex, distributed enterprise platforms.

• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows using GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, JFrog, or similar tools.

• Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, and/or Puppet.

• Ability in identity data analytics, including query design, pipeline construction, and deriving actionable insights.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD test integration.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, software reliability, and observability.

• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.

• Experience in integrating AI into workflows, decision-making, or problem-solving.

• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization.

• Over 10 years of experience with Java, C#, or another high-level compiled language.

• At least 5 years of experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, Playwright, or TestNG.

• Familiarity with SailPoint, Veza, or ServiceNow platform integrations.

• Strong understanding of SAML, OAuth2, OIDC, and SCIM.

• Experience with graph databases like Neo4j or ML-assisted role mining and access recommendation systems.

• Exposure to regulated or compliance-constrained environments, such as FedRAMP or GCC.

• Experience with AI productivity and coding tools like Cursor or Windsurf.

• Comfortable with IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, and Unix-based systems.
