Senior / Staff Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain both new and existing applications.

• Produce and deliver high-quality, well-documented code.

• Co-manage services architecture, resilience, scalability, and robustness using Domain-Driven Design principles.

• Contribute to the technical leadership and mentorship of fellow engineers.

• Help shape Qonto’s finance solutions within cross-functional teams.

• Engage in the strategic direction of the banking product.

• Oversee the management of increasing user-base requirements.

• Take ownership of product scope within a cross-functional team.

• Collaborate with mobile, frontend, and product management teams to deliver impactful solutions.

• Strong software engineering experience in user-facing products.

• Familiarity with architectural patterns of large-scale web applications.

• A pragmatic, product-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Knowledge of best practices in code quality, testing, and code reviews.

• A curiosity and eagerness to learn.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical colleagues.

• Proficiency in English.

• Backend experience with Go and/or Ruby.

• Understanding of Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and ELK.

• Capability to work within a cross-functional team.
