Senior SRE / DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, operate, secure, and continuously enhance highly available cloud platforms and delivery systems.

• Take ownership of reliability outcomes for both application and infrastructure services.

• Minimize operational toil through automation and guide engineering teams in achieving production readiness.

• Provide expert support for AWS and Amazon EKS.

• Manage Bitbucket and GitLab repositories, including branching strategies, merge controls, and release governance.

• Design and maintain Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines utilizing reusable templates, shared libraries, and environment promotion models.

• Integrate code quality, security, container, and secret scanning into the pipelines.

• Enable rolling, blue-green, and canary deployments with automated rollback capabilities.

• Oversee cloud environments across development, testing, staging, and production.

• Operate AWS services and design resilient multi-AZ network and compute patterns.

• Implement Terraform for infrastructure as code, including drift detection, reusable modules, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability procedures.

• Design, provision, upgrade, and support production-grade Amazon EKS clusters.

• Operate Kubernetes workloads and deploy using Helm and GitOps methodologies.

• Implement EKS security controls and troubleshoot scheduling, networking, and autoscaling challenges.

• Engineer centralized logging solutions with Splunk and/or Datadog.

• Deploy and maintain monitoring systems with Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.

• Define SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, availability targets, dashboards, actionable alerts, ownership, and runbooks.

• Enhance escalation paths and lead major incident responses.

• Drive blameless post-incident reviews while maintaining runbooks, SOPs, dependency maps, and production-readiness checklists.

• Automate repetitive tasks using Python, Bash, and APIs.

• Conduct capacity planning, resilience testing, and mentor engineers.

• Manage vulnerability workflows and coordinate VAPT remediation efforts.

• Integrate SAST, DAST, dependency, container, IaC, and secret scanning processes.

• Support IAM reviews, key and certificate rotation, privileged access controls, audit logging, and compliance/risk reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–12+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, cloud, platform, or production operations engineering.

• 3+ years in a senior or lead role.

• Proven production ownership experience on AWS, encompassing EC2, VPC, load balancers, S3, RDS, EMR, CloudWatch, and IAM.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD.

• Expert-level knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including experience with Amazon EKS clusters and workloads.

• Practical experience with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm.

• Strong skills in Python and Bash automation.

• Solid understanding of Linux administration, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP, load balancing, IAM, storage, and distributed systems.

• Experience with incident management, RCA, post-incident reviews, SLOs, capacity planning, and backup/recovery processes.

• Experience in managing vulnerabilities and VAPT findings while implementing security controls.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to make calm decisions under pressure across engineering, security, and business teams.
