This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
• Act as a liaison for Supply Chain/Material Management within business unit programs and initiatives for new business development.
• Represent procurement on Integrated Program Teams and facilitate cross-functional resolution of material-related challenges.
• Formulate supply chain strategies, plans, and processes that align with comprehensive program management frameworks.
• Serve as the customer interface for supply chain program activities.
• Compile and occasionally lead material requirements, budgets, and supply chain deliverables for designated programs.
• Generate and present monthly material cost forecasts along with quarterly Estimate at Completion projections.
• Lead cross-functional material teams while collaborating with suppliers, supply chain leadership, program management, functional leaders, and customers.
• Oversee time and resources across various programs, prioritizing critical-path activities and competing demands.
• Formulate and implement supply chain strategies for development and production proposals.
• Propel affordability and enhance supplier performance through improvement initiatives, including quality enhancement efforts.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve material-related issues, risks, and obstacles.
• Support subcontract negotiations with essential single-source or sole-source suppliers.
• Develop baseline program plans for suppliers that include budget and schedule baselines.
• Assist in contract negotiations with key strategic suppliers.
• Prepare and present findings to peers, customers, suppliers, and senior management.
• Act as the SC/MM representative and customer-facing contact for supply chain material program matters.
• Travel to other facilities and supplier locations across the nation.
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years of relevant supply chain experience; or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related supply chain experience; or, alternatively, at least 8 years of relevant supply chain experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient understanding of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, assembly, and ATP processes.
• Capability to assess plans, processes, and outcomes using technical knowledge and experience.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies within the defense acquisition sector, including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting, and earned value management.
• Ability to implement product design and development stage-gate processes for design, build, and test reviews.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, reviewing, and providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Ability to manage multiple activities concurrently and adapt plans in real time.
• Willingness and capability to travel up to 10% to facilities and supplier locations nationwide.
• 9/80 schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours worked, with every other Friday off.
