
Senior Specialist, Major Gifts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +16 more states.
• Oversee a portfolio consisting of 80-120 major donors and prospects who have the potential to contribute annual gifts of $5,000 or more.
• Create and implement both short-term and long-term strategies for major giving.
• Formulate messaging and coordinated communication plans tailored for major donors.
• Conduct thorough research on donors and prospective donors.
• Build relationships, solicit contributions, and manage donor relations through virtual meetings, phone calls, personalized mail, and in-person interactions.
• Document donor engagements and meeting summaries in the database.
• Achieve portfolio targets for donor meetings and personalized outreach.
• Organize and carry out donor cultivation events, salons, Emersonian Dinners, and similar major gift initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a communications calendar tailored for the major gifts audience.
• Create customized donor proposals and stewardship reports.
• Prepare donor briefings and memoranda for the organizational leadership.
• Assist in stewardship and outreach efforts by NILC and IJF board members.
• Identify potential donors, transition existing donors into the major gifts program, and create strategies for upgrading contributions.
• Monitor and evaluate revenue performance and donor strategies.
• Keep donor engagement and moves-management records updated in Raiser’s Edge.
• Represent NILC and stay updated on its work at local, state, and national levels.
• Collaborate with development, communications, operations, senior leadership, and program staff.
• High School diploma is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, including at least two years within the nonprofit sector, specifically in nonprofit fundraising.
• Demonstrated progressive responsibility with a successful track record of securing meetings with prospective donors and managing the solicitation, closing, and stewardship of mid to major gifts.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Capability to devise long-term plans, establish objectives, and monitor progress.
• Proficiency in MS Office, internet research, virtual collaboration tools, and both in-office and virtual work settings.
• Experience with and strategic utilization of at least one advanced CRM system.
• Familiarity with moves management is preferred.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT database is preferred.

• Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and/or weekends for donor meetings and events.
• Must reside in one of the designated remote work locations.
