Senior Specialist – Fundraising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Secure funding from institutional and corporate philanthropy partners.

• Create proposals, pitch decks, and budgets that align with program requirements.

• Evaluate funders and customize Udhyam’s value proposition for each partner.

• Craft narratives for corporate and institutional donors highlighting the significance of fostering agency in youth.

• Investigate funders, sectors, and datasets related to education, youth empowerment, economic development, and similar initiatives.

• Convert budgets and data into accessible, engaging stories.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Shiksha and Shiksha Operations.

• Report directly to the Principal Specialist, Fundraising.

• Contribute to fundraising efforts to help Udhyam Shiksha achieve its goal of reaching government-school students throughout India.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 5 to 7 years of experience, particularly in nonprofit fundraising or donor management.

• Background in documentation, strategy, research, or communications.

• Skilled in developing proposals, pitch decks, and budgets.

• Capable of evaluating funders and positioning the organization’s value proposition effectively.

• Strong generalist skills and the ability to think big-picture.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient research skills across funders, sectors, and datasets.

• Comfortable working with budgets and data, including the ability to translate figures into clear narratives.

• High attention to detail and capability to organize information effectively.

• Ability to analyze data and synthesize various inputs into cohesive external narratives.

• Competent in both independent and collaborative work environments.

• Strong sense of rigor, ownership, and accountability.

• Belief in experiential learning, youth empowerment, and nurturing agency in adolescents.
