Senior Solutions Engineer – RapidScale

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to identify business objectives, challenges, and motivations.

• Convert client requirements into customized, outcome-driven cloud and infrastructure solutions.

• Facilitate workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and interviews with stakeholders.

• Maintain a balance between broad and deep knowledge, knowing when to delve into architecture versus focusing on business outcomes tailored to different customer personas throughout each engagement.

• Solution Architecture & Design: Design hybrid and multi-cloud environments that meet performance, availability, security, and compliance requirements.

• Represent our hosted cloud and core offerings with a profound technical understanding, encompassing the full scope, architecture, and presentation of solutions based on these services.

• Present our public cloud offerings at a strategic level, identifying customer requirements that necessitate a public cloud solution, and involving public cloud specialists for more comprehensive scoping, solution development, and presentations.

• Collaborate to design multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions across both hosted and public cloud services, ensuring optimal alignment with customer outcomes.

• Collaboration & Leadership: Serve as the technical lead throughout the sales process, from discovery to hand-off.

• Work together with sales, product, and specialist teams to ensure solutions are aligned with account strategies.

• Engage in RFPs, solution assessments, and scope definitions.

• Security and Compliance: Create security architectures that include MDR, SOCaaS, IAM, SIEM/SOAR, and vulnerability management.

• Ensure that solutions adhere to compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, ISO, NIST).

• Networking & Connectivity: Design secure, high-performance networks that integrate SD-WAN, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls across on-premises and cloud environments.

• Technology Evangelism: Keep abreast of emerging technologies (cloud, AI/ML, automation, cybersecurity) and translate innovations into business strategies.

• Educate clients and internal teams about current and future capabilities.

• Illustrate the innovative technology solutions RapidScale offers today and the roadmap items to demonstrate current and future business outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a BA/BS Degree with 6+ years of experience, or an MS Degree with 4+ years of experience, or a Ph.D. with one year of experience, or 10 years of overall experience without a degree.

• Professional Level Public Cloud Certification (AWS, Azure, Google).

• Proven experience working within a sales team context.

• Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Hosted Cloud / Traditional IT: Extensive knowledge of private cloud and data center architectures (VMware, Citrix, storage, networking).

• Public cloud: General knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP, understanding their differences from traditional IT approaches, and the reasons businesses adopt them.

• Security and compliance: Experience with managed security services and designing secure, compliant architectures.

• Networking: Solid understanding of hybrid connectivity, SD-WAN, VPN, DNS, and firewalls.

• Storage, Backup, and DR: Design experience with SAN and NAS, backup and data protection strategies, technologies, and methods for replication and disaster recovery.

• DevOps & Automation: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern deployment practices is advantageous.
