This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Stay updated on the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to optimally position Zayo in the market.
• Offer guidance and support during customer meetings throughout the sales process, from discovery to closure.
• Cultivate strong relationships with the customer's technical influencers and recommenders to effectively address technical objections and drive opportunities to completion.
• Develop and articulate the customer-specific value proposition to client executives and key partners, highlighting Zayo’s role in achieving each customer's business objectives.
• Prepare proposals and assist in the contracting process by ensuring all technical and compliance requirements are met.
• Analyze customer needs to determine how Zayo products and services can be utilized to address their challenges and requirements.
• Design optimal solution options, balancing capabilities, resilience, and cost to fulfill customer needs, leveraging your expertise in local and global services.
• Utilize your outstanding cross-functional leadership abilities to manage design teams comprising members from various departments and oversee complex, iterative designs to completion.
• Confirm the feasibility of the proposed solution with operations and product teams.
• Document and diagram solutions to clearly represent all technical components.
• Engage in the creation and delivery of persuasive face-to-face sales presentations that showcase technical expertise in the designed solutions and the Zayo products utilized.
• Act as a subject matter expert in one or more technologies and services.
• Educate and consult customers on significant technology and industry trends.
• Actively engage in bidirectional knowledge sharing with your peers at Zayo and its business partners.
• Assist in enhancing the product and technical knowledge of your sales colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent business or military experience.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical sales engineering or support roles within the telecommunications sector.
• Industry certification in two or more specialized technologies.
• Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, reasoning, and objection handling.
• Proficient in using common business applications, including Google and/or Microsoft suites.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects while collaborating with team members from various disciplines.
• Capacity to navigate ambiguity and quickly respond to changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs.
• Expert-level technical knowledge in networking, encompassing optical, routing, switching, software-defined networks, and network security.
• Understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery concepts, with experience in designing for various resiliency needs.
• Familiarity with application and data architectures, including public, private, and hybrid clouds, as well as edge performance and security requirements.
• Ability to create technical designs and diagrams for customer solutions and effectively communicate design concepts to both technical and business audiences.
