This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete architecture and integration strategy across products for Kafka-based data infrastructure.

• Act as the leading technical expert for data ecosystems that encompass Cisco Identity Intelligence, Duo, and emerging agentic product lines.

• Spearhead the design and execution of high-scale, event-driven data flows.

• Establish standards for schema management, data quality, and observability.

• Develop robust, self-healing systems for large-scale Kafka deployments.

• Ensure the scalability, observability, uptime, and performance of infrastructure.

• Influence the readiness for production and enhance operational maturity.

• Connect various engineering teams and align stakeholders on data standards and integration methodologies.

• Promote teamwork to expedite the delivery of next-generation security capabilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years, or a PhD with 6+ years of relevant experience.

• Over 4 years of experience with Kafka, data infrastructure, and/or streaming architecture, including the construction and operation of production systems.

• Experience in AI-driven development, including coding, system building, and strategies for integrating AI into workflows.

• Background in building cloud services utilizing AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience in identity and security sectors.

• SRE/operations experience managing infrastructure reliably in production, covering observability, incident response, capacity planning, and reliability.

• Capability to navigate uncertainty and identify technical solutions and paths forward.

• Ability to influence without direct authority.

• Capacity to continuously iterate and make decisions with a proactive approach.
