This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as a senior test designer and active contributor, defining testing strategies, outlining testing efforts, and reviewing product requirements along with engineering specifications during the Agile planning cycle.
• Create and uphold repeatable automated testing solutions and QA test plans derived from functional requirements, use cases, user interface designs, system designs, and domain expertise.
• Assist in establishing testing methodologies and automation practices that facilitate the concurrent development of enterprise software and automated test suites, ensuring integration with development and DevOps workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA team members, and system and database administrators to analyze test failures using SQL queries and examination of web and application server logs.
• Conduct software testing across various platforms, including mobile applications, while contributing to enhancements in automation coverage, test reliability, and overall software quality.
• Offer technical or team leadership by sharing quality engineering knowledge, mentoring junior team members, and aiding teams in resolving intricate testing and automation issues.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience in enterprise software testing or quality engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience with test automation and a solid understanding of both manual and automated testing tools and methodologies.
• Experience in testing software on mobile platforms and operating within Agile development settings.
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex test failures across application, database, and testing environments; practical experience with SQL and log analysis is beneficial.
• Familiarity with cloud automation and DevOps practices, particularly with Amazon Web Services (AWS), is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to adapt effectively to shifting priorities and collaborate with technical teams.
• Proven ability to provide technical or team leadership and support the growth of less-experienced team members.
• Capability to work remotely within Canada with availability overlapping Eastern Time hours.
