Senior Software Engineer – VoIP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

• You will take ownership of features from conception to production, on a platform relied upon by thousands of businesses daily.

• You will have a significant impact on architecture, work closely with product and design teams, and ensure the reliability of our VoIP systems as we expand.

• You will also focus on enhancing the skills of those around you by sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and elevating the overall capability of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building and deploying production systems.

• Proven ability to take ownership of problems from start to finish, going beyond just executing tasks to defining and delivering solutions.

• Skilled in identifying and addressing bottlenecks and performance challenges within our VoIP infrastructure.

• Familiarity with VoIP platforms such as FreeSwitch, Kamailio, OpenSIPS, and Asterisk.

• A practical, daily engagement with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to enhance productivity.

• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup or SaaS environment.

• Understanding of distributed systems concepts including queues, event-driven architecture, and horizontal scaling.

• Hands-on experience with tools for network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics.

• Knowledge of WebRTC, including SDP negotiation, ICE/STUN/TURN, and browser/mobile softphones.

• Proficient in using packet capture tools and diagnosing application issues at the packet level.

• Experience in monitoring network, server, and application status.
