Senior Software Engineer, Test Core

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of intricate projects, guiding them from problem identification and technical design through to implementation, deployment, and ongoing operation.

• Design and enhance backend systems, APIs, and data models that facilitate Test operations and result processing.

• Enhance the reliability, accuracy, performance, and monitoring of the Tests runtime.

• Analyze complex production challenges, ascertain root causes, and develop sustainable solutions.

• Streamline existing systems while improving abstractions and interfaces for fellow engineers.

• Collaborate with engineers across Vanta to address challenges that cross system and team boundaries.

• Provide insights during design and code reviews, articulating technical trade-offs effectively.

• Mentor fellow engineers and actively contribute to fostering the team’s engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in building and managing reliable, scalable backend systems in a production environment.

• Successfully managed complex technical projects where the problem or solution wasn't clearly defined.

• Strong understanding of systems thinking along with foundational knowledge in backend system design, APIs, and data modeling.

• Excellent debugging capabilities across aspects of correctness, reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Ability to assess and make effective technical trade-offs while taking ownership of production systems.

• Strong communication skills for clearly conveying technical decisions and collaborating effectively with various teams.

• Familiarity with TypeScript, GraphQL, MongoDB, and observability tools like Datadog is advantageous.

• Willingness to leverage AI to enhance skills and improve work outcomes.
