Automation Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Ensure the quality, integrity, and reliability of enterprise data warehouse applications, ETL pipelines, and backend systems.

• Conduct testing for ETL, backend databases, and data warehouse systems.

• Create and implement both manual and automated test cases for data pipelines and backend applications.

• Validate transformations from source to target, business rules, and data quality using SQL.

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for ETL, database, and regression testing utilizing Python and SQL.

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, row count, aggregate, and data integrity testing.

• Assess cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Databricks, Redshift, Amazon S3, and RDS.

• Create test plans based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams on sprint planning, defect resolution, and release validation.

• Engage in system integration, regression, and performance testing.

• Identify defects, conduct root cause analysis, and suggest process improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; a minimum of 8 years in the field.

• At least 5 years of experience in Test Automation.

• Proven experience in developing test plans through data-driven testing methodologies.

• Expertise in ETL Testing, Backend Database Testing, and Data Validation.

• Strong SQL proficiency with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Redshift.

• Experience in creating both manual and automated testing solutions.

• Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services, Databricks, and data warehouse environments.

• Experience in developing data-driven test plans and validating extensive datasets.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Must hold a Public Trust clearance level.

• Work authorization in the US is required without any current or future visa sponsorship.
