Senior Software Engineer, Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks utilizing Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.

• Implement test design patterns such as Page Object Model, Screenplay Pattern, App Actions, or Singleton.

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers during the design phase to advocate for testability and impact feature development.

• Develop and uphold locator strategies for dynamic web applications.

• Analyze test execution data to pinpoint quality bottlenecks and deliver actionable insights.

• Manage test code via Git and engage in code reviews.

• Identify opportunities to enhance testing processes and efficiency.

• Document test procedures, results, and defects.

• Implement BDD using Gherkin syntax and create executable specifications as living documentation.

• Conduct targeted manual or exploratory testing for new features and intricate edge cases.

• Participate in Agile processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.

• Mentor Software Engineers on effective unit, integration, and smoke tests.

• Work with Product Managers on forthcoming features and roadmaps to devise proactive test strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an SDET or Automation Engineer, particularly with Playwright and/or Serenity-JS.

• Established background in software quality assurance, covering QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices.

• Strong foundation in TypeScript and JavaScript.

• Capability to write modular, reusable, and maintainable code for end-to-end, integration, and unit testing layers.

• In-depth understanding of test design patterns and long-term test-suite maintenance.

• Expert knowledge of CSS selectors, XPath, and locator strategies for intricate DOM structures.

• Advanced understanding of Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests.

• Solid grasp of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile sprint cycles.

• Ability to debug complex failures and differentiate between environment issues, script flakiness, and application bugs.

• Strong knowledge of RESTful API testing.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with Python for scripting.

• Familiarity with Selenium, Serenity-BDD, or Cypress.

• Experience testing mobile, mobile-responsive web applications, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.

• Experience configuring GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.

• Familiarity with load testing tools such as k6 or Artillery.

• Previous experience in InsurTech or FinTech sectors.

• Experience with Docker, docker-compose, and/or other virtualization tools.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is a plus.
