QA Automation Engineer – Mobile & Wearables

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a mobile test automation strategy from the ground up.

• Research and choose appropriate tools and technologies for testing mobile and wearable apps.

• Establish and manage automation environments and testing infrastructure.

• Develop automated tests utilizing JavaScript.

• Construct automated coverage for essential end-to-end user flows within the React Native mobile application and associated wearable apps.

• Ensure backward compatibility and detect regressions with each release.

• Conduct regular manual testing for new features, bug fixes, integrations, and complete user flows.

• Test the functionalities of mobile and Apple Watch, including the interaction between mobile and wearable apps.

• Generate test plans, test cases, and quality assurance documentation.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and monitor defects.

• Collaborate closely with developers to investigate issues and validate solutions.

• Proactively pinpoint quality risks and suggest enhancements to development and release processes.

• Take responsibility for QA activities and assist in establishing effective quality standards as the product matures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in both manual and automated QA in a commercial setting.

• Strong practical experience in mobile application testing.

• Experience with testing wearable applications or integrations with Apple Watch.

• Hands-on experience in building or significantly enhancing a test automation framework.

• Proficient JavaScript skills for creating automated tests.

• Familiarity with mobile automation tools such as Appium or equivalent technologies.

• Comprehension of mobile application architecture and end-to-end testing methodologies.

• Experience in establishing test environments and incorporating automated tests into development workflows.

• Capability to test interactions between mobile applications, wearable devices, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.

• Understanding of regression testing, backward compatibility, and release validation processes.

• Ability to explore unfamiliar tools and independently suggest fitting technical solutions.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Experience testing React Native applications.

• Familiarity with native iOS or Android technologies, especially Swift or Java.

• Experience with AWS-based products.

• Background in APIs and backend integration testing.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.

• Previous experience in a bootstrapped or early-stage startup environment.

• Interest in music, fitness, wellness, biometrics, or wearable technology.
