Senior Software Engineer, Stream Control Plane

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop software that ensures the dependable and scalable functionality of Cribl Stream, encompassing the deployment, configuration, and orchestration of distributed nodes at scale.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to convert product requirements into technical designs and high-quality implementations.

• Create, test, and sustain robust code that delivers value to customers.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to enhance development, debugging, testing, and operational efficiency.

• Establish automated tests and test plans to ensure product quality, reliability, and maintainability.

• Contribute to engineering best practices, operational excellence, and a customer-centric approach.

• Enhance performance, scalability, and developer efficiency across products and processes.

• Maintain and support SaaS offerings, which includes participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

• Provide occasional stand-by, on-call, or off-hours support as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must adhere to U.S. government security requirements for access to FedRAMP-authorized systems, which may entail U.S. citizenship and residence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with over 5 years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science with relevant professional experience.

• Significant hands-on software development experience in delivering production systems and customer-facing features.

• Experience in building enterprise software within AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and consuming production REST or RPC APIs.

• Background in participating in production on-call rotations and incident response.

• Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript testing frameworks such as Playwright, Codecept, Mocha, Cypress, or Jest.

• Knowledge of or experience with data streaming and transformation, high-volume telemetry, logs, metrics, or observability systems.

• Strong coding proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Experience in startup or fast-paced environments utilizing agile development practices in remote or hybrid teams.

• Comfortable operating in an AI-native, agentic engineering environment and employing AI-assisted tools.
