
Senior Software Engineer β Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Design and develop control-plane services, drivers (such as CSI), and tools that provision, configure, and manage storage for Kubernetes-based AI and compute workloads.
β’ Integrate high-performance storage solutions β including Dell PowerScale, VAST, and similar systems β into automated, declarative provisioning workflows.
β’ Create data-path, telemetry, and observability tools to identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability challenges.
β’ Produce production-quality software β primarily using Go β ensuring strong testing, code reviews, and operational excellence.
β’ Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu) and GitOps-driven pipelines (ArgoCD or Flux) for storage setup and lifecycle management.
β’ Facilitate bare-metal and hybrid provisioning where storage interacts with host and cluster deployment.
β’ Provide storage integration for k0s-based Kubernetes utilizing Cluster API (CAPI) and K0rdent management/child cluster topologies.
β’ Design storage software for fully disconnected (air-gapped) environments, including local artifact/mirror connectivity (Harbor) and PKI/TLS considerations.
β’ Over 5 years of software development experience, including production systems, with Go as the primary programming language.
β’ More than 5 years of experience building or integrating storage systems (distributed, scale-out, NAS, or object) at scale.
β’ Hands-on expertise with high-performance storage platforms such as Dell PowerScale, VAST, or similar technologies.
β’ Strong understanding of storage fundamentals: file/block/object models, throughput and latency behaviors, caching, consistency, and failure modes.
β’ Familiarity with Kubernetes storage (CSI, persistent volumes, storage classes) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical audiences.
