Senior Software Engineer, Ruby on Rails

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable, high-performance web applications and backend services.

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and frontend developers to convert product requirements into clean, tested, and maintainable code.

• Create applications and services utilizing Ruby on Rails, microservices, Azure PaaS, and other relevant technologies.

• Document architectural designs using diagrams and logical flows.

• Construct and evaluate designs, systems, and applications to ensure quality and performance compliance.

• Interpret both functional and non-functional requirements to implement reliable software solutions.

• Test applications and services across diverse environments.

• Independently maintain and modify existing applications.

• Estimate and plan work utilizing user stories and tasks.

• Monitor platform performance and enhance system behavior.

• Analyze operational feasibility and provide requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

• Determine, design, and implement system specifications, standards, and programming guidelines.

• Conduct systems analysis and recommend changes to operational policies and procedures.

• Engage in team collaboration exercises.

• Mentor and guide team development to achieve successful project delivery.

• Stay updated with development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.

• Safeguard confidential information.

• Gather, analyze, and summarize development and service issues.

• Support and nurture software engineers through advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.

• Involve in interviewing, recruiting, and hiring to expand engineering teams.

• Remain current with development practices and open-source technologies.

• Understand business requirements and create tools to meet those needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails.

• More than 5 years of experience with Ruby.

• At least 2 years of experience with AWS.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Microservices.

• More than 2 years of experience with React.

• At least 1 year of experience in mentoring team members.

• Advanced English proficiency required for collaboration with US clients.

• Experience in developing scalable, high-performance web applications and backend services.

• Familiarity with Azure PaaS offerings.

• Ability to interpret both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Capacity to document architectural designs through diagrams and logical flows.

• Ability to test applications in diverse environments.

• Skills to analyze system performance and optimize behavior.

• Capability to participate in interviewing, recruiting, and hiring processes.
