Senior Software Engineer – RPA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and implement comprehensive automation solutions for EHR systems (MEDITECH, Oracle Health/Cerner, Epic) and related healthcare applications.

• Create browser-based automation scripts in Python utilizing Playwright or UIPath for workflows that necessitate web interaction.

• Develop reusable automation components, frameworks, and libraries to ensure scalable delivery.

• Prepare and sustain process documentation and deployment manuals.

• Collaborate with hospital IT, clinical operations personnel, and engineering colleagues to identify and prioritize automation opportunities.

• Partner with QA on testing strategies and with DevOps for the deployment of your automation solutions.

• Execute feasibility studies and establish business cases for new automation projects.

• Incorporate AI coding assistants (Claude Code and similar tools) into your daily development tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in developing automation solutions (RPA, browser automation, or workflow automation).

• Proficient in Python with experience in at least one automation framework (Playwright, Selenium, UiPath, or a comparable tool).

• Strong capability to review, validate, and enhance AI-generated code applying sound software engineering principles.

• Familiarity with UiPath Studio and Orchestrator, encompassing REFramework, queue-based processing, and error handling methodologies.

• Solid grasp of REST API design and integration (JSON, OAuth).

• Experience with SQL databases and data management practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of working independently.

• Comfortable operating from the command line; experienced with Unix/Linux shell environments and integrating small tools into reliable workflows.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical approaches to clinical and business stakeholders.

• Experience in healthcare or a related regulated industry (preferred).

• Familiarity with EHR systems (Oracle Health/Cerner, Epic, MEDITECH) and clinical workflows (preferred).

• Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) (preferred).

• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, Aurora) or other cloud platforms (preferred).

• Familiarity with serverless architecture patterns (preferred).

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (preferred).

• UiPath certification (RPA Developer, Advanced Developer, or Solutions Architect) (preferred).

• Experience with revenue cycle operations, claims processing, or clinical data integration (preferred).
