Senior Software Engineer – QA Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical consultant and lead for enterprise engineering and test automation solutions.

• Collaborate with users, business analysts, product owners, and engineering teams to ascertain testing requirements, quality risks, automation possibilities, and validation strategies.

• Create quality engineering solutions and automation strategies aimed at enhancing reliability and confidence in releases.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, Salesforce platforms, and enterprise integrations.

• Develop test plans, strategies, cases, automation designs, and relevant documentation.

• Establish and execute automated testing methodologies that align with project goals and enterprise quality standards.

• Validate end-to-end business processes across interconnected applications and platforms.

• Conduct functional, integration, regression, smoke, system, and user acceptance testing.

• Execute both automated and manual validation of web applications, APIs, enterprise integrations, and Salesforce solutions.

• Identify defects, confirm fixes, and enhance product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Develop and implement automated API testing procedures.

• Ensure data integrity, integrations, and business processes through backend testing and SQL verification.

• Support Salesforce initiatives by verifying functionality, Lightning components, Flows, security models, integrations, reports, and dashboards.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and assist with continuous testing.

• Conduct automation reviews, testing walkthroughs, and quality assessments.

• Provide estimates for testing, automation development, and quality-related tasks.

• Advise on testing strategies, tools, processes, and automation frameworks.

• Identify quality risks, gaps in test coverage, and operational issues while driving mitigation strategies.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, release planning, and retrospectives.

• Serve as the primary contact for complex testing challenges, release validation, and production quality matters.

• Mentor team members on automation, testing methodologies, Salesforce QA, and quality engineering standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, release aims, and quality expectations.

• Foster continuous improvement in automation coverage, testing efficiency, release quality, and engineering processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

• 7-10 years of experience in software quality engineering, quality assurance automation, or enterprise application testing.

• 5+ years of practical experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.

• Strong experience in validating web applications, APIs, integrations, and enterprise business processes.

• Experience in Agile software development environments, participating in sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, testing, and release activities.

• Experience in supporting enterprise applications in production environments and resolving complex business and technical challenges.

• Strong programming and automation development skills using Java.

• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, TestNG, and JUnit.

• Experience in developing and maintaining automated REST API test suites using REST Assured, Postman/Newman, or similar frameworks.

• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, smoke, system, and user acceptance testing methodologies.

• Experience in validating enterprise integrations, service interfaces, and backend business processes.

• Strong SQL skills with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.

• Experience in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.

• Experience with source control systems like Git.

• Salesforce platform testing experience is highly preferred.

• Experience testing Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud applications is preferred.

• Experience in validating Salesforce Lightning Experience, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Profiles, Permission Sets, Reports, Dashboards, and external integrations is preferred.

• Experience using SOQL for data validation and troubleshooting is preferred.

• Experience in automating Salesforce testing using Selenium or similar frameworks is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS is preferred.

• Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or other regulated industries is preferred.

• Knowledge of API mocking, test data management, and service virtualization is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across business and technical teams.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, organizational, planning, prioritization, estimation, leadership, and mentoring skills.
