Senior Software Engineer, Protocol – Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of features throughout their entire lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, documentation, deployment, and monitoring.

• Collaborate across different teams to achieve maximum impact.

• Develop rigorous conformance and adversarial testing methods to ensure compatibility of implementations.

• Safely execute protocol upgrades.

• Address complex issues related to availability and performance.

• Utilize AI-driven engineering tools while adhering to high standards of correctness, security, review, and technical ownership.

• Create the kona-node and associated Rust-based consensus-client infrastructure as a compatible, production-ready alternative to op-node.

• Implement native account abstraction throughout the technology stack.

• Enhance protocol capabilities that support OP Enterprise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of delivering production software and maintainable Rust systems.

• Extensive knowledge of Ethereum, including EVM, JSON-RPC, and various clients.

• In-depth understanding of distributed systems.

• Capability to navigate through ambiguity.

• Skill in effectively communicating complex design decisions.

• Familiarity with op-node, kona, or Reth implementations is preferred.

• Ability to read and work with production Go code while transitioning functionality to Rust is preferred.

• Proficiency in Solidity for system-level smart contracts is a bonus.
