Senior Software Engineer, Protocol

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance essential protocol components, such as:

• - Consensus mechanisms

• - State synchronization and replication

• - Mempool and transaction propagation

• Create robust, fault-tolerant distributed systems using Rust

• Enhance system throughput, reliability, and latency at scale

• Collaborate with research and product teams to refine protocol designs

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate challenges in distributed systems within live environments

• Contribute to the establishment of engineering standards for testing, benchmarks, and secure releases

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Rust generalist focusing on systems programming

• Strong foundation in distributed systems (consensus, replication, networking, async primitives) and associated design trade-offs

• Experience in developing or managing production infrastructure or protocol software

• Excellent comprehension of:

• - Asynchronous concurrency and performance optimization

• - Network protocols and peer-to-peer systems

• - Design trade-offs in decentralized systems

• - A rigorous approach to correctness, testing, and reliability

• Familiarity with blockchain protocols or consensus engines (preferred)

• Knowledge of the EVM or MoveVM ecosystem (preferred)

• Background in high-throughput, low-latency systems (preferred)

• Understanding of cryptographic primitives utilized in consensus/security (preferred)

• Previous experience in decentralized or open-source protocol communities (preferred)
