Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop high-quality, scalable systems and shared libraries utilized by various engineering teams.

• Create shared platform components that are customer-facing or establish internal abstractions and foundations.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams to comprehend their requirements and convert them into clean, well-documented APIs and services.

• Drive technical decision-making and impact architecture across team boundaries.

• Prioritize developer experience and enhance platform scalability.

• Establish and maintain engineering standards for shared components.

• Guarantee consistency, performance, and security across the systems you manage.

• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning activities.

• Write and upkeep comprehensive documentation.

• Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture as the company continues to grow.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend or fullstack software engineering.

• Concentration on platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.

• Proven experience in constructing shared APIs, services, or platform components that multiple engineering teams utilize.

• Familiarity with distributed systems.

• Understanding of event-driven architecture.

• Knowledge of message queue systems such as Kafka, SQS, or pub/sub.

• Exceptional communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and design stakeholders.

• Ability to clearly express technical trade-offs.

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code.

• Sound judgment regarding architectural decisions.

• Willingness to leverage AI to enhance skills and improve efficiency and impact.

• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly.
