Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and create high-quality, scalable systems and shared libraries utilized by various engineering teams.

• Develop shared platform components for customers or internal TypeScript-first abstractions and foundations.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams to identify needs and convert them into documented APIs and services.

• Lead technical decisions and shape architecture across team boundaries.

• Establish and maintain engineering standards for shared components, focusing on consistency, performance, and security.

• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.

• Author and update documentation for systems and libraries.

• Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture as the organization grows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend or fullstack software engineering.

• Specialization in platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.

• Proven experience in developing shared APIs, services, or platform components used by multiple engineering teams.

• Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queue systems such as Kafka, SQS, or pub/sub.

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with engineering, product, and design stakeholders.

• A history of delivering high-quality, maintainable code and making informed architectural choices.

• Willingness to responsibly utilize AI to enhance efficiency and impact.
