Senior Software Engineer, Position Management Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Design and implement modular and maintainable software solutions focused on performance and scalability.

• Lead discussions on features and epics, integrating feedback from cross-functional teams.

• Drive technical decisions that align with business goals and customer requirements.

• Analyze and collaborate to resolve technical ambiguities.

• Take ownership of medium to large-scale projects from concept through delivery with minimal oversight.

• Coordinate technical dependencies among various teams.

• Create and execute project plans that align with business objectives.

• Ensure quality standards are maintained while adhering to project timelines.

• Advocate for best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring systems.

• Conduct constructive code reviews to elevate code quality.

• Mitigate technical debt and refactor legacy code.

• Mentor junior engineers in best practices and contemporary development techniques.

• Promote knowledge sharing through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.

• Address conflicts and escalate issues appropriately.

• Shape technical direction through well-reasoned arguments and expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proven history of leading major technical initiatives.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence peers.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.

• Over 5 years of practical software development experience with a focus on backend engineering.

• Extensive experience with .NET / C# or an equivalent backend technology stack.

• Familiarity with REST, authentication, authorization, API versioning, and scalability principles.

• Experience in designing and managing systems supported by PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases.

• Knowledgeable in backend architecture, data modeling, performance optimization, and system reliability.

• Experience in designing systems that are testable with unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing strategies.

• Capacity to influence or make architectural decisions.

• Basic understanding of frontend technologies and their interaction with frontend/API.

• Ability to manage backend components or services from start to finish.

• Proficient in working within an agile, cross-functional, English-speaking team environment.

• Commitment to delivering high-quality technical results.

• Adherence to clean, maintainable, and efficient coding practices.

• A passion for curiosity and continuous learning.

• Preferred: Familiarity with OpenSearch, AWS, CI/CD and DevOps, Datadog, Prometheus, AI technologies, distributed systems, data-intensive platforms, React, or full-stack experience.

• Capability to sit at a desk for extended periods, generally 7–8 hours a day.

• Ability to operate computers and phone systems and type effectively.
