Senior Software Engineer – Platform Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Node.js (NestJS)

• Oversee and enhance the platform's integration layer for connectivity, data ingestion, and data exports

• Design systems that ensure reliable job execution, retries, state management, and processes that run for extended periods

• Implement orchestration patterns for intricate, multi-step business operations

• Design and manage APIs and internal services that connect with external systems

• Establish observability through logging, tracing, and metrics

• Guarantee high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability for high-volume event-driven systems

• Enhance performance, throughput, and latency across distributed systems

• Identify and resolve production issues in complex asynchronous environments

• Lead the development of medium to large-scale features and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Work alongside product and platform teams to define integration requirements and SLAs/SLOs

• Engage in agile processes, sprint planning, and technical discussions

• Offer technical mentorship and perform code reviews

• Assess emerging technologies and tools

• Maintain production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability enhancements

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with an emphasis on backend systems

• Extensive experience with Java (Spring Boot) and/or Node.js (NestJS)

• Proven experience in building integrations with CRM or MAP platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics 365

• Familiarity with no-code/low-code integration platforms such as Fivetran or Zapier

• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and JWT

• Experience with third-party API patterns, including rate limiting, pagination, error handling, and data transformation pipelines

• Proficient in MongoDB as well as relational and NoSQL data stores

• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful and webhook-based APIs

• Understanding of software architecture patterns, cloud platforms, databases, and distributed systems

• Experience in performance optimization, security best practices, and scalable system design

• Ability to produce clean, maintainable, production-quality code and conduct thorough code reviews

• Skilled in debugging complex technical challenges and implementing effective solutions

• Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Familiarity with agile methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD practices
