This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Design, develop, and sustain high-performance PHP applications that handle millions of API requests on a daily basis.
β’ Architect and enhance MySQL database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies to ensure low-latency access.
β’ Implement and uphold RESTful APIs in accordance with contemporary API design standards, including OpenAPI specifications and best practices for versioning.
β’ Create and execute asynchronous workflows, background jobs, queues, and event-driven integrations as necessary.
β’ Engage in architecture discussions, incident response, and root-cause analysis for production challenges.
β’ Collaborate with product and engineering teams to establish technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
β’ Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and advocate for engineering best practices.
β’ Produce clean, well-tested code with extensive unit and integration test coverage.
β’ Over 5 years of professional software development experience with a strong command of modern PHP (PHP 8+) and popular frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or Slim.
β’ Profound expertise in MySQL, including query optimization and schema design suitable for high-traffic applications.
β’ Significant experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs using modern standards.
β’ Familiarity with Redis for caching, distributed locking, queues, and performance enhancement.
β’ Knowledge of message queues and asynchronous processing systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, or Redis Streams.
β’ Proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Experience with logging, monitoring, tracing, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
β’ Awareness of API security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, RBAC, rate limiting, and OWASP principles.
β’ Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (Vultr, AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
β’ Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based development workflows.
β’ Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
