This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer at Rula, you will be engaged in designing and scaling robust systems within a self-sufficient, cross-functional team that prioritizes high ownership, rapid iteration, and technical excellence.
• You will join the Partnerships organization, whose mission is to enhance patient engagement through strategic collaborations with payers, providers, health systems, primary care physicians (PCPs), employers, brokers, and other partners. In this role, you will report to an Engineering Manager and develop software that broadens our addressable population, facilitates seamless access to care, connects with partners’ care teams, and establishes Rula as a unique strategic partner.
• The Partnerships New Verticals team is focused on emerging growth areas such as Government, Employers, and PCPs. This involves supporting government-sponsored plans like Medicare Fee-for-Service, enabling employers to provide mental health care access to their employees, and assisting PCPs in connecting patients with high-quality mental health care. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead critical technical initiatives that significantly impact our emerging growth areas.
• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, demonstrating a successful history of building and scaling web applications in a production setting.
• Proven experience in leading high-priority technical projects from inception to completion, including the capability to navigate trade-offs and align various stakeholders.
• A strong desire to cultivate a high-performing engineering culture through code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring colleagues.
• Extensive knowledge of modern full-stack technologies—preferably TypeScript, React, and Node.js—coupled with a robust understanding of functional and object-oriented programming.
• Proficient in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot) to enhance delivery speed, automate repetitive tasks, and improve code quality.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex, distributed systems that are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
