Senior Software Engineer – Parking for Autonomous Vehicles

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Integrate and adapt NVIDIA DRIVE parking software onto customer development and production vehicles.

• Participate in vehicle bring-up, software flashing, data logging, testing, and functional validation.

• Analyze and troubleshoot issues throughout the parking chain, from sensor input to perception and fusion, culminating in maneuver behavior.

• Collaborate with customer teams and NVIDIA engineering teams across Europe, the US, APAC, and India to identify root causes, provide program-level solutions, and facilitate long-term product corrections.

• Configure and fine-tune parking software for various vehicle platforms, sensor setups, vehicle geometries, and low-speed maneuvering specifications.

• Debug fusion and environment-modeling behavior that integrates sensor and neural-network outputs into a coherent and temporally stable representation of the vehicle's surroundings.

• Develop targeted C++ or Python adaptations, debugging tools, and analysis workflows as needed to address customer integration and functional challenges.

• Assess functional performance through recorded data replay and in-vehicle testing, and clearly communicate findings to customers and NVIDIA engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive background in ADAS software development and triage, with a minimum of 8+ years of experience, including in-vehicle activities.

• Proficient programming skills in modern C++ and Python.

• Expertise in Linux or QNX-based embedded environments.

• Proven ability to systematically identify system-level issues through log analysis, recorded data replay, and in-vehicle testing, driving them to resolution across multiple engineering teams.

• Strong technical communication skills with customers and distributed engineering teams, including the ability to articulate findings, trade-offs, and next steps.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Comfort in a customer-facing field environment where priorities may be influenced by vehicle availability, integration milestones, and production program requirements.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to engage in vehicle testing and international travel.

• Experience with parking or low-speed maneuvering software, or closely related perception, fusion, or environment modeling tasks.

• Hands-on experience with camera- and ultrasonic-based parking or low-speed assistance systems.

• Background in integrating ADAS software into customer vehicle platforms and supporting automotive series programs.

• Practical experience in converting sensor and perception outputs into actionable results through fusion, tracking, filtering, or temporal association.

• Experience with data-driven development processes, encompassing fleet-data triage, corner-case analysis, and feedback to model-training teams.

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows and deep neural network development or integration—e.g., in perception tasks such as object detection, segmentation, or depth estimation.
